Club de Futbol Monterrey announces that Alfonso Alvarado, a player developed in the Club’s Youth Academy, has joined Club León on a permanent transfer.

The 24-year-old Mexican forward began his football career in our youth system and made his First Team debut with Rayados during the Apertura 2018 tournament.

“Plátano” played in the U-17, U-19, U-20, and Raya2 Expansión teams, winning championships at the U-17 and U-20 levels, as well as a Golden Boot in the U-20 category.

During his time with Rayados, he was part of the squad that won the 2019-2020 Copa MX and the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League.

He represented Monterrey at the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia and the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States the biggest edition in football history.

Seeking more playing time and growth, Alfonso joined Club León for the Apertura 2022. He returned to Monterrey for the Clausura 2025.

In these past six months, Alfonso featured in Liga BBVA MX, the CONCACAF Champions Cup, and the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
