RAYADOS WIN, IMPRESS, AND SCORE BIG AGAINST MAZATLÁN IN WEEK 3

Rayados from Monterrey defeated Mazatlán 5-1 in the Matchday 3 game of the Clausura 2026, played at El Encanto.

Rayados sought the opponent's goal from the first minutes. "Tecatito" Corona, "Corcho" Rodríguez, Anthony Martial, Germán Berterame, and Iker Fimbres scored the goals for Monterrey.

In the first minute of play, Jesús "Tecatito" Corona had the first dangerous opportunity with a half-turn shot that ended up in the hands of goalkeeper Ricardo Rodríguez.

Sergio Canales sent in a cross that "Tecatito" connected with a lethal header to open the scoring.

Jorge "Corcho" Rodríguez shot from outside the area. The ball was deflected by defender Jair Díaz and went into the Mazatlán goal.

Gerardo Arteaga entered the area from the left wing and was fouled by Iván González. Without hesitation, the referee awarded a penalty to Monterrey in the 23rd minute.

Sierra took advantage of a counterattack and shot with his left foot to score the consolation goal.

With this result, Monterrey is currently at the top of the tournament with 6 points and a +5 goal difference.

Next Saturday, January 31, at 7:00 p.m., Monterrey will host the Xolos from Tijuana at Estadio BBVA for the Clausura 2026 Matchday 4 game.
