Rayados of Monterrey defeated Club Necaxa 2-0 in the Clausura 2026 Matchday 2 played at Estadio Victoria.
With this victory, Monterrey has now won nine consecutive matches against the Hidrorayos, regardless of the venue, a streak that began in the 2023 Clausura Tournament, when the Albiazules defeated the Rojiblancos 2-0 at Estadio BBVA.
The Rayados started the match looking for the opponent's goal. From the first minutes, they tried to get on the scoreboard, and Germán Berterame succeeded in the 15th minute.
The first dangerous play came in the 7th minute with a shot by Sergio Canales that went over the goal.

Minutes later, Fimbres himself tried to score his second with a powerful mid-range shot that hit the post.
In the second half, Domènec Torrent's men remained ahead on the scoreboard and secured the victory.
In the 64th minute, Luis Cárdenas saved a point-blank shot from Necaxa's Julián Carranza to prevent a goal and send the ball out for a corner kick. Great save, Mochis!

Minutes later, Monterrey built a great play from the start. In midfield, Óliver Torres passed to Sergio Canales, who did the same with Ricardo Chávez. The Mexican crossed to Roberto de la Rosa, who shot, and the Necaxa goalkeeper sent the ball to a corner kick. Great play, Rayados!
Joaquín Moxica came close to scoring Monterrey's third goal in the final stretch of the match. Iker Fimbres took a free kick, Luis Reyes crossed the ball back into the box, and Moxica shot, but the ball went just wide.
With this result, the Blue and Whites now have 3 points and a +1 goal difference, placing them momentarily in third position in the overall standings.
