At kickoff of Friday’s match against Atlas at Estadio BBVA, Diana Evangelista became the Rayadas de Monterrey player with the most appearances in club history, reaching 284 matches.
During the Matchday 16 clash between Rayadas and León, also played at Estadio BBVA, “Evans” reached 283 appearances, tying Rebeca Bernal, who previously held the record for most matches played.
Diana has been part of the blue-and-white squad since the Copa LIGA MX Femenil 2017, the first official women’s tournament in the history of the Liga BBVA MX Femenil, and she is the only active player who has been with the team since its creation.
In that tournament, Evangelista finished as the team’s top scorer with four goals. She also became the first Rayadas player to score a brace, accomplishing the feat twice: in the first official Clásico Regio Femenil and again against Pumas.
Diana is one of only two players to be part of all four Rayadas league titles, alongside Rebeca Bernal.
Her 284 appearances are broken down as follows: 268 in the Liga BBVA MX Femenil, 5 in Campeón de Campeonas, 5 in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, 3 in Copa MX, and 3 in the Summer Cup.
Additionally, the Rayadas forward is the fourth all-time leading scorer for Monterrey with 68 goals, trailing only Desirée Monsiváis (122), Christina Burkenroad (108), and Rebeca Bernal (70).
Congratulations, Evans! Here’s to many more matches with Rayadas!
