Rayados from Monterrey tied 1-1 with Inter Milan in their debut in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, played Tuesday at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, California.

The Monterrey team started the game with a solid defense and took the lead with a header from Sergio Ramos. However, before halftime, the Italian team managed to equalize through Lautaro Martinez.

At minute 22, Matteo Darmian had the Italian side's first dangerous chance with a shot from outside the area that went over the goal.

Minutes later, on a counterattack, Sergio Canales sent a pass to Lucas Ocampos, who shot just wide of the goal.

Oliver Torres took a corner kick and, with his trademark finish, Sergio Ramos rose and headed the ball into the net to score Monterrey's first goal in the World Cup.

A few minutes later, Esteban Andrada made a great save from Sebastiano Esposito's shot, preventing the opposition from tying the game.

In a set piece from a free kick, Alessandro Bastoni passed the ball sideways to Lautaro Martinez, who scored the equalizer.

In the second half, Domenec Torrent's men looked to regain the lead and came close to doing so.

Sergio Canales had the first chance of the second half with a cross-shot in the 60th minute, but the ball went just wide of the opponent's goal.

Minutes later, Canales himself came close to scoring a spectacular goal from outside the area, but the ball crashed against the post! German Berterame connected with the rebound, but the ball went wide of the goal.

At minute 80, Sergio Canales tried again with a shot that was deflected by the defense for a corner kick.

In the next play, Fidel Ambriz made a great run from one end of the field to the other, stole the ball from Luis Henrique, and prevented Inter from advancing on offense.

With this result, Monterrey earned its first point in the Club World Cup tournament.

This Saturday, January 21, at 7:00 p.m., Rayados will face River Plate in Matchday 2 of the Club World Cup at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, California.
